Week 9: Brainstorming Ideas for Our Client's Website

Week 9 of our class for FSM4505 was quite tiring but still productive and enjoyable. Before the class even started, my group and I already felt exhausted because we had to be at Food 6 as early as 7 a.m. to prepare for a program that would be held the next day. Since we were busy preparing many things, we knew we might arrive slightly late to class. Thankfully, we informed Dr. Fareed earlier and asked for permission to come in a little late. Luckily, Dr. Fareed understood our situation, and we were very grateful for his consideration.

As soon as we entered the class, we immediately continued with the tasks that had been given. There was no time to relax because we needed to focus on our group work. One of the main activities for this week was brainstorming and generating ideas for our client’s website development project, which is for Apam Balik Chalok. This activity was very interesting because we could share different creative ideas with our teammates.

To make the discussion easier and more organized, we used the Canva application. Canva helped us collaborate smoothly since everyone could contribute ideas at the same time. We discussed the website storyboard together, including the design layout, colour themes, homepage arrangement, and the information that should be included on the website. Through this discussion, we learned how important teamwork and communication are when developing a website for a client.

Even though the day started with a lot of tiredness and preparation work, the class still went well. I enjoyed the brainstorming session because it allowed us to think creatively and understand our client’s needs better. Overall, Week 9 was a meaningful experience that taught us more about teamwork, creativity, and website planning in digitalisation projects.

Week 8: E-Business, E-Commerce & Wix Progress

In Week 8 of FSM4505 class, we learned about E-business and E-commerce. The lecture helped us understand how businesses use digital platforms and online systems to manage operations, communicate with customers, and increase sales. We also learned the differences between E-business and E-commerce, where E-business focuses on overall business activities using technology, while E-commerce mainly focuses on buying and selling products online.

For the practical session, we continued the progress update for the Wix website project. We improved several parts of the website, including the content arrangement and overall appearance to make it more attractive and user-friendly. Besides that, we also completed the tasks in Google Digital Garage (GDG) as part of our learning activities.

Furthermore, Dr. Fareed reminded everyone to complete the interview session with clients by this week because next week’s class will focus on brainstorming ideas and the CEO presentation. Fortunately, my group managed to conduct the interview earlier. This really helped us because this week was quite packed with assignments, programmes, and activities from other subjects compared to previous weeks. Overall, this week’s class was very useful because we gained more knowledge about digital business while also preparing ourselves for the upcoming project presentation.

Week 7: A Step Closer to Becoming a Web Creator

Week 7 of our Digitalization class was quite interesting and productive because we focused on both project progress and website evaluation activities. At the beginning of the class, we discussed the latest update regarding CIPUPM. Our group prepared a list of interview questions to ask the client, and we also started arranging our first meeting with them. This step is important because it helps us understand the client’s needs and expectations before developing the website. Although it may sound simple, preparing suitable questions actually requires careful thinking so that we can gather useful information for the project. It made me realize that communication with clients is one of the most important parts in creating a successful digital product.

Besides that, we continued with DEEDS 4, which focused on analyzing effective websites. Dr Fareed showed us several examples of websites created by seniors for different companies, and these websites will also become references for our own future projects. From the session, I learned that a good website is not only about having a beautiful design, but it must also have strong content, smooth functionality, and good website usability. Dr Fareed explained how the appearance of a website can attract users, while proper content helps deliver clear information. Functionality is also important to ensure all buttons, links, and features work properly, while website usability focuses on making the website easy and comfortable for users to navigate. Seeing the seniors’ work gave me inspiration and motivation because their websites looked very professional and creative.

Another memorable part of the class was when Dr Fareed reviewed our individual personal websites. Honestly, I felt a little shy and nervous because my website is still not fully complete yet, but thankfully everything went okay haha. Even though my website is not perfect yet, I feel more motivated now to complete it as soon as possible. Overall, this week’s class was very beneficial because it combined technical knowledge, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills all in one session.

See you in another blog :))

Week 6: Just Me Leveling Up Slowly

Week 6 was honestly such a wholesome and eye-opening week for me 💖 I learned so many things that feel small at first, but actually make a big difference in how I present myself and manage my life.

First, we talked about netiquette, and it really made me reflect on how I communicate online. It’s not just about typing messages, but about being kind, respectful, and thoughtful. From choosing the right words to avoiding unnecessary negativity, I realized that our online presence says a lot about who we are. Definitely something I want to improve on!

Then, we explored creating our own website using Wix, and OMG it was actually so fun. I never thought building a website could be this easy and cute! No coding needed, just drag, drop, and design. It made me feel like I can start building my own little space online, maybe a portfolio or even something creative in the future.

Lastly, we learned how to plan tasks using Google Calendar for our company organization, and this one really hit me because I need better time management. Being able to organize our schedule, set reminders, and actually see the tasks laid out nicely just makes everything feel more under control. It’s giving “productive era” vibes and I’m here for it.

💪💗FIGHTING !!
