2nd July 2026
Today was the last class of FSM4505, and I honestly can't believe the semester has come to an end. During today's lecture, we learned about Information System Acquisition. Dr. Fareed explained the five ways a company can get an information system which is Buy Off the Shelf (buying ready-made software), Lease Applications (renting software through a subscription), Insourcing (developing the system using the company's own employees), Self-sourcing (creating simple systems by ourselves using available tools), and Outsourcing (hiring another company to develop the system). The topic sounded complicated at first, but Dr. Fareed explained everything in such a simple way that it became easy to understand.
After the lecture, we gathered together to take our final class photo. Everyone was smiling, but deep inside I felt a little sad because this was our last FSM4505 class. Time really flies. It feels like we just started learning about digital technologies, building websites, attending webinars, and working on our projects together.
I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from Dr. Fareed. He is one of the most supportive lecturers I have ever met. Every class was enjoyable because he always encouraged us to explore new ideas and never made learning feel stressful. What I appreciate the most is that he never hesitated to share his knowledge with us, even when it was beyond the syllabus. Those extra lessons and real-life experiences made me realize that learning is much more than just preparing for exams.
Thank you so much, Dr. Fareed, for all your guidance, patience, and kindness throughout this semester. Thank you for believing in us and always motivating us to do our best. I pray that Allah blesses you with good health, happiness, and success in everything you do. May all your affairs be made easy, and may you continue inspiring many more students in the future.
I guess this is the last reflective blog I will write for FSM4505... and that makes me a little emotional. Thank you, Dr. Fareed, for introducing us to the idea of writing reflective blogs throughout the semester. At first, I thought it was just another assignment, but now I realize how meaningful it is. These blog entries have become a collection of memories that capture everything we learned, the challenges we faced, the laughter we shared, and the experiences we gained in every class.
Years from now, I know I can come back and read these reflections to remember this special chapter of my university life. Maybe one day, I can even show them to my future children and tell them how lucky I was to experience this course, learn from such a supportive lecturer, and create so many wonderful memories with my classmates. Thank you for giving us something that will stay with us long after the semester has ended. This may be the end of the blog, but the lessons and memories will always remain in my heart.
Don't forget us ya, Dr 😆. We will always remember everything you have taught us, not only the lessons in class but also the valuable life advice you shared along the way. Again, thank you Dr for making this journey so meaningful. 💖
