Week 13: Lunch Sponsored by Dr Fareed

25 Jun 2026

As we approach the end of the semester, Week 13 was another productive week for me. The class began with a discussion on the feedback and comments received from last week's CEO presentation. We listed down all the comments and suggestions given by Dr. Fareed and our client before submitting them through PutraBLAST. This activity was very helpful because it allowed us to identify areas for improvement and make necessary enhancements to the website. Constructive feedback is important in ensuring that the website becomes more professional, user-friendly, and aligned with the client's expectations.

One of the highlights of the day was lunch sponsored by Dr. Fareed at Fatir Cafe. It was such a pleasant surprise and a wonderful opportunity for us to relax after the morning session. I ordered nasi kandar, and it was absolutely delicious! Thank you so much, Dr. Fareed, for your kindness. We truly appreciate the treat and the care you always show towards your students.

During the lab session, we participated in an insightful webinar on SEO (Search Engine Optimization), AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) in AI digital marketing. The webinar introduced us to the evolving digital marketing landscape and explained how businesses can improve their online visibility not only on search engines but also on AI-powered platforms. I learned that SEO focuses on improving website rankings on search engines, AEO aims to provide direct answers to users' questions, while GEO helps optimize content so that AI tools can effectively understand and recommend it. This knowledge is highly relevant as AI continues to transform the way consumers search for information online.

In addition, Dr. Fareed reminded us about our responsibility to prepare a tutorial for our client on how to use Wix for website management and development. This tutorial will help the client maintain and update their website independently in the future. It also reminds us that building a website is not only about development but also about ensuring the client understands how to manage it effectively.

Week 12: CEO Presentation

18 June 2026

Today was quite a memorable day because it was our CEO Presentation session under class digital FSM4505. However, the day did not start very well for me. Since early morning, I was not feeling well due to food poisoning. My stomach felt uncomfortable, and I was quite worried about whether I could get through the presentation. Despite that, I reminded myself to stay positive and give my best effort because my group had worked hard to prepare for this important presentation.

Our group was selected as the first group to present. Although I was feeling unwell, everything went smoothly during our presentation. Alhamdulillah, each member delivered their part confidently, and we managed to present our ideas clearly. I felt relieved and grateful once we finished because all our preparation and teamwork paid off. It was a great feeling to complete the presentation successfully despite the challenges I was facing physically.

After our presentation, I continued to listen to the other groups. From their presentations, I gained a lot of new knowledge and valuable insights. I noticed several creative ideas, presentation styles, and business strategies that could help improve our own work in the future. It was interesting to see different approaches taken by each group, and it reminded me that there is always room for learning and improvement. Observing others also helped me identify areas where our team can do even better next time.

Unfortunately, my condition became worse as the day went on. Around 1.45 p.m., I decided that I needed to prioritize my health and return back early. Before heading back, I went to PKU to seek treatment and collect medicine. Thanks to Sofea for accompanying and sending me to PKU when I was not feeling well. Also thanks to my friends for encouraging me to go to PKU and seek medical treatment. Honestly, if they had not insisted, I probably would not have gone. Their care and concern reminded me that health should always come first. I am truly thankful to have such supportive friends who looked out for me when I was not feeling well. 💓

Overall, this was a challenging yet meaningful day. I learned that even when facing difficulties, it is important to stay committed and do our best. I am thankful that our presentation went well, grateful for the new knowledge gained from my classmates, and reminded of the importance of taking care of my health.

Week 11: Learning Supply Chain Management and Digital Business

10/6/2026

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my Week 11 reflective blog. Today's physical class was both interesting and practical because we learned important concepts about Supply Chain Management (SCM) and gained hands-on experience in creating a business profile on Alibaba.com. It was a productive session that helped me understand how products move from suppliers to customers and how digital platforms can support business growth.

During the lecture session, we learned about Supply Chain Management (SCM), which refers to the process of managing the flow of goods, information, and services from suppliers to customers. We were introduced to the generic supply chain and learned how different parties such as suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and customers are connected. One topic that caught my attention was the difference between the push and pull models. The push model is based on forecasting demand before customers place orders, while the pull model responds directly to actual customer demand. Understanding these models helped me realize how businesses make decisions to manage inventory and meet customer needs efficiently.

Another interesting topic discussed was the bullwhip effect. This concept explains how small changes in customer demand can lead to larger fluctuations throughout the supply chain. It showed me how miscommunication and inaccurate forecasting can create problems such as overstocking or product shortages. We also learned several solutions to supply chain problems, including improving communication, sharing accurate information, using technology, and strengthening collaboration among supply chain partners. These solutions highlighted the importance of teamwork and effective planning in business operations.

In the lab session, we had the opportunity to create an Alibaba.com profile together under the guidance of Dr. Fareed. The step-by-step guidance made the process easier to follow and understand. It was exciting to explore one of the world's largest B2B e-commerce platforms and learn how businesses can showcase their products and connect with potential customers globally. This hands-on activity gave me practical exposure to digital business tools and helped me understand the importance of building a professional online presence.

Overall, today's class provided a good balance between theory and practice.  I am grateful to Dr. Fareed for his guidance throughout the session. This class has helped me appreciate how supply chain management and digital technologies work together to support successful businesses in today's competitive world. Thank you for taking the time to read my Week 11 reflective blog. I hope you enjoyed learning about my classroom experience. See you in the next blog! 😆💪

Week 10: Back in Action After Mid Semester Break

 Wednesday, 3rd June 2026

After a refreshing mid-semester break, Week 10 marked our return to FSM4505 with new knowledge, exciting discussions, and important project preparations. It felt great to be back in class, reconnecting with my coursemates and continuing our journey in digitalization and website development. This week's lecture focused on Social Computing 2.0, a topic that highlighted how technology facilitates collaboration, communication, and knowledge sharing in today's digital environment.

One of the most interesting concepts I learned was the SECI Model, introduced by Professor Ikujiro Nonaka. The model explains how knowledge is created and shared through four processes which is  Socialization, Externalization, Combination, and Internalization. I also gained a better understanding of the differences between tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge. Tacit knowledge refers to personal experiences, skills, and insights that are difficult to express, while explicit knowledge can be documented and easily shared with others. In addition, we explored Social Networking Websites (SNWs) and their role in connecting people, facilitating communication, and supporting knowledge exchange within organizations and communities.

During the lab session, Dr. Fareed shifted our attention to the major project milestones that are approaching. He reminded us that it is time to seriously focus on developing our website prototype for the client and preparing for the upcoming CEO Presentation, which is expected to take place during Week 12 or Week 13. The reminder created a sense of excitement and urgency, as our ideas are slowly transforming into a real product that will be presented to our clients.

Another important activity during the lab was the review of our storyboard submission from the previous week. Dr. Fareed carefully checked our work and provided constructive feedback on areas that could be improved. His suggestions helped us identify opportunities to enhance the website's design, functionality, and user experience. Receiving feedback at this stage was incredibly valuable because it allows us to make refinements before moving further into website development.

Towards the end of the session, Dr. Fareed also reviewed our progress for the Google Digital Garage (GDG) activities. I was especially happy and relieved because I successfully completed all the required GDG modules for Fundamentals of Digital Marketing. Alhamdulillah, it felt rewarding to see my efforts pay off after consistently working on the tasks over the past few weeks. Completing the modules not only fulfilled the course requirement but also expanded my knowledge of digital skills that can be applied in future projects and career opportunities.

Overall, Week 10 was both productive and motivating. The lecture introduced valuable concepts about knowledge management and social computing, while the lab session provided clear direction for our website development project. As the CEO Presentation draws closer, I am excited to continue improving our prototype and working closely with my team to deliver the best possible outcome. The coming weeks will undoubtedly be challenging, but they will also be an excellent opportunity to apply everything we have learned throughout the semester.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog! I hope you enjoyed following my learning journey and experiences throughout Week 10. Stay tuned for more exciting updates in the next blog. See you in the next post! Lurveeeee 💓
