After a refreshing mid-semester break, Week 10 marked our return to FSM4505 with new knowledge, exciting discussions, and important project preparations. It felt great to be back in class, reconnecting with my coursemates and continuing our journey in digitalization and website development. This week's lecture focused on Social Computing 2.0, a topic that highlighted how technology facilitates collaboration, communication, and knowledge sharing in today's digital environment.
One of the most interesting concepts I learned was the SECI Model, introduced by Professor Ikujiro Nonaka. The model explains how knowledge is created and shared through four processes which is Socialization, Externalization, Combination, and Internalization. I also gained a better understanding of the differences between tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge. Tacit knowledge refers to personal experiences, skills, and insights that are difficult to express, while explicit knowledge can be documented and easily shared with others. In addition, we explored Social Networking Websites (SNWs) and their role in connecting people, facilitating communication, and supporting knowledge exchange within organizations and communities.
During the lab session, Dr. Fareed shifted our attention to the major project milestones that are approaching. He reminded us that it is time to seriously focus on developing our website prototype for the client and preparing for the upcoming CEO Presentation, which is expected to take place during Week 12 or Week 13. The reminder created a sense of excitement and urgency, as our ideas are slowly transforming into a real product that will be presented to our clients.
Another important activity during the lab was the review of our storyboard submission from the previous week. Dr. Fareed carefully checked our work and provided constructive feedback on areas that could be improved. His suggestions helped us identify opportunities to enhance the website's design, functionality, and user experience. Receiving feedback at this stage was incredibly valuable because it allows us to make refinements before moving further into website development.
Towards the end of the session, Dr. Fareed also reviewed our progress for the Google Digital Garage (GDG) activities. I was especially happy and relieved because I successfully completed all the required GDG modules for Fundamentals of Digital Marketing. Alhamdulillah, it felt rewarding to see my efforts pay off after consistently working on the tasks over the past few weeks. Completing the modules not only fulfilled the course requirement but also expanded my knowledge of digital skills that can be applied in future projects and career opportunities.
Overall, Week 10 was both productive and motivating. The lecture introduced valuable concepts about knowledge management and social computing, while the lab session provided clear direction for our website development project. As the CEO Presentation draws closer, I am excited to continue improving our prototype and working closely with my team to deliver the best possible outcome. The coming weeks will undoubtedly be challenging, but they will also be an excellent opportunity to apply everything we have learned throughout the semester.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog! I hope you enjoyed following my learning journey and experiences throughout Week 10. Stay tuned for more exciting updates in the next blog. See you in the next post! Lurveeeee 💓
